Evelyn Street Press began as a publishing house in 2002. We focus on emerging voices in poetry, alternative/radical/progressive expressions, words that shake up the world, incite change, and promote a critical consciousness among our readership. We also offer multimedia and design services, as well as consulting for print or web-based projects. Our first book was a poetry anthology entitled Affirming Flame: Progressive Texas Poets in the Aftermath of September 11th, edited by Jennifer Margulies. The anthology features work by sharon bridgforth and a fierce gathering of other new & established voices.
